Our Church

Our Mission

Embry was organized as a worshiping community, as a result of prayer and faith in God in October, 1903. We are located in the Lakeland Community of College Park, MD a community established by former slaves.

Embry is an offspring of the oldest

Black institution in America - the African

Methodist Episcopal Church.

The Mission of Embry is to provide for the needs of our community through teaching, preaching, and spreading the word of God. The members of Embry have big hearts and a strong desire to help and serve God's people through loving, sharing, and

 giving to those in need.

What Does the A.M.E Church

Our Invitation to You

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified dead and buried.

The third day He arose from the dead, He ascended into heaven and site at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church universal, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and everlasting life.

You are welcome to God's house where the Spirit of the Lord prevails! In His house you will find the love of God for your heart, the word of God for your mind, and salvation for your soul.
